PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Our Directors and Managers are experienced in successfully project-managing diverse assignments, from local, national and international business moves to large complex relocation projects involving factories and libraries. Our network of contacts in the industry can provide additional expertise if required.
According to the scale of the assignment, features of our project management include:
- Initial meeting to understand our clients’ specific requirements.
- Operational plans for the project will be produced, focusing on specific key issues of the move. Activities of the move, a Risk Assessment evaluation and estimated personnel and facilities will also be established. These can then be honed at a planning meeting.
- Planning meetings are arranged prior to all relocations ensuring that the operational plan is clear to all parties and that queries raised by your staff can be answered and advice given.
- Team briefing Foremen detailed to your move are present at planning meetings, ensuring familiarisation with your particular move. Similarly, specialist teams will be updated with your requirements.
- Special crates are delivered in advance for you to pack and are collected from your new home or offices after an agreed period. Quotes can be given for packing crates on your behalf, although experience shows most prefer to do this themselves. Company in-house packing helps to facilitate file accessibility and gives staff an opportunity to carry out ‘spring cleaning’.
- Labelling systems designed for individual moves ensure accurate location of furniture and crates containing essential files.
- Room planners are specifically designed so our clients can decide how they would ike their furniture arranged in their new homes or offices. Our staff will position furniture exactly as required, ensuring that effects can be unpacked where they are needed and where employees are involved, they can start work immediately.
- Protection of premises is also a factor wetake very seriously. Appropriate protective covering for all interiors will be discussed and reconfirmed during our meetings. Protection will be laid and removed by the project team.
- Arrangement of insurance While every care is taken to ensure that personal possessions are never damaged, moving furniture, computers and works of art holds an element of risk. We therefore recommend that our clients permit us to insure their goods on their behalf. Insurance rates vary, depending on the destination, the nature of the consignment and the mode of transport. Suitable cover for your particular move can be negotiated through our brokers. As a professional, reputable company, we have liability insurance cover in place, details of which are included in the loose leaf insert.
- Move co-ordination Our managers will ensure that every aspect of your move runs as smoothly as possible, organising your removal team and any necessary parking arrangements. They will also be on hand to offer advice should unforeseen events occur.
